Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope you are well and had a fun day.
A tradition in my family is to go around the table and say what we are thankful for before we eat Thanksgiving dinner.
Today, I am thankful for my family, the tradition I grew up with of discussing and debating progressive politics at the dining room table, and the belief my parents instilled in me that anything is possible.
Below is a photo of my first Thanksgiving when I was seven months old
Today, I am thankful for the activist group I organize with, Empire State Indivisible, because they have been my support system, my moment of zen, part of some of my most extraordinary shared experiences, and my committed and relentless friends in activism.
Today, I am thankful to my friends who have always stood with me, encouraged me, made me laugh, and believed in me … sometimes more than I believed I myself.
Now, I have decided to try something new … to take the next step in my activism and run for office. Specifically for my NY state assembly seat in western Queens. I consider running for office to fight to change the system and to represent and advocate for my community to be the next, truest extension of my activism.
I believe anything is possible, but I also know I cannot do it alone. So I am asking you to support me via a donation to my campaign. The link to donate follows; any amount is hugely appreciated. And if you cannot not donate but want to volunteer, please let me know.
